"Awake, my dear,
Be kind
to your sleeping heart.
Take it out
into the vast fields
of Light
And let it
breathe."
—Hafiz
In the middle of Libra season I have been thinking a lot about beauty while also experiencing a lot of grief. We often imagine beauty as something reserved for light, joyful, easeful times. But beauty is not so fragile. It doesn't disappear when life becomes hard. There is beauty even in the cracks. The tenderness in a hand that holds yours through difficult times. The stillness that comes after a storm. The way silence teaches you to listen more deeply. Even in heartache, there are threads of beauty. It weaves itself through fracture, offering quiet reminders that you can hold more than one truth at once. If you've ever experienced death, you understand this. That even in the grief, even in the loss, there is beauty in the reminder that love existed here. The rose blooming next to the rubble. The song that makes you cry and heal in the same breath. The soft way you body exhales when it realizes it has survived. To notice beauty in the shadows is to honor contrast. To let grief and grace coexist. To allow tenderness and ache to share the same space within you. This isn't about bypassing what hurts. It's about remembering that even in your hardest seasons, life still offers moments of grace. Beauty doesn't cancel pain, but it keeps you tethered to the truth of this human experience.
Breathwork is an active meditation technique that uses the breath to purge the body and nervous system of emotional debris. It is part catharsis, part socially sanctioned adult temper tantrum, and part consciousness altering. The experience moves stagnant emotional energy and facilitates release of strong emotions like anger and sadness. It can help you to find a home in your body and your heart and help you learn to trust yourself. It may leave you feeling softer, open and less burdened.
Possible benefits of breathwork:
- Release of stuck or stagnant emotions in the body
- A heart opening to greater love
- Access to greater creativity and expression
- Deeper connection to self, guides, ancestors, the natural world, and Spirit
- Increased compassion, understanding and authentic connection in relationships
- Renewed energy and clarity
- Heightened intuition and receptivity
- Decreased anxiety, frustration, overwhelm, depression, and confusion
Cost: $33
